Synchrony Bank - We were switched to e-billing without our knowledge
We first received an email about a late payment, followed by an automated phone call for "debt collection" from this bank. The amount of the late payment was $29.00 on our JCPenney Platinum Master Card.
We hit the roof, since we are never delinquent on a payment and have a 850 credit score. It turned out that without our knowledge and consent, we were signed up for e-billing and therefore never received a paper bill in the mail. We do not do e-billing and regard what this bank did is unethical if not fraudulent.
We sent a letter to the CEO of JCPenney telling them about this bank. We will get rid of any and all synchrony bank issued credit cards we have.
