Erroneous charges

Synchrony bank added $1.99 per month for paper copy bills after I asked them to stop. They continued to add late fees on top of it for a total of $233.80 despite numerous attempts to resolve the situation.

User's recommendation: Do not use Synchrony Bank 0% financing.

Closed account without good cause

I received an email message alert from Synchrony Bank stating that another account was closed on October 29, 2024, without good cause. The account has always been current and never been late on a payment, always abided by terms of the credit agreement.

This is the second account they have closed (the Other one was Lowes), over a year ago. I have had the accounts for several years the reason they give is because of some stupid stuff like '"no real-estate loans", well, I rent, and I was renting when they pre-approved me for these accounts several years ago, nothing has changed in my credit profile except I have paid some credit cards off, etc.

I have included some attachments that show their reasoning. They list several that doesn't apply to me..

They don't owe you an explanation. The terms you agreed to said that they can shut you down at any time.

They ran your credit, it wasn't up to their low low standards so that was it. Move on.

There's nothing wrong with my account as I have 5 accounts with synchrony bank including PayPal credit, so that makes noooo sense in closing the account. If they ran my credit then they need to send me a letter as is my right according to CFPB.

Also, I have a credit freeze on all credit bureaus as I am a victim of ID theft and hacks. I have filed reports with ID theft.gov and FTC, etc.

Then you must be a loser. A loser who wasn't making them any money.

by keeping balances on the card(s).

Instead of coming here, whining and fighting to salvage what's left of your sagging ego, how about doing a simple Google and you'll find your answer. Either way, you're not getting your accounts back regardless of how you feel or whine.

YOU must work for that failing financial institution cause the way they treat their good paying customers (Not just me), is a disgrace and they should close up shop. It appears you have a chip on your shoulders and "DUNG" in your mouth cause everything you have said is just that, "DUNG"....Get a life, get a job....

This is typical of losers who can't understand why anyone other than an employee could think they were stupid. Listen, "pre-approved" is for suckers who actually think that this bank giving them junk cards makes them something. Hint: You are not something. IF you were, you would use a single card from somewhere else to make your purchases.

Sorry if the truth hurts you and the lame OP's feelings. Both of you are silly members of a legacy demographic.

Worst Experience Ever

Do not open an account with Synchrony Bank. I had 4 different cards with them: eBay, PayPal, Lowes, and Rooms To Go.

I never missed a payment until recently when I paid the balance. I paid more than the minimum on the 0% Rooms To Go account. Due to a drop in income over the last few months, combined with added medical expenses not covered by insurance, I have had to use my other credit cards that are not with Synchrony. My overall credit card usage went above 50%, but I made sure that all cards were paid.

Unfortunately, the higher credit card usage dropped my credit score. Synchrony Bank, in spite of my never having been late or missed a payment, cancelled my 4 accounts, thereby reducing my total available credit, drastically increasing my credit card usage and dropping my credit score even further. Thanks to them, my score went from 720 to less than 585, even though I have an excellent payment track record. They will approve you and then do a 180 on you when you least expect it.

Be smart; avoid Synchrony Bank. You're better off with one of the lesser-known lenders.

What happened to you is not the exception and occurs anytime your credit usage increases. Creditors are alerted and can make the decision to lower a credit limit or even cancel your account.

I have no problems with this bank!!!

I have used this bank many times. I would prefer to use this bank than others that are around in the United States.

I have been a victim of fraud and they basically are calling me a liar I informed them and the end at the end of 2020 3 and they still allowed the thieves to charge on this credit card in my name till

This one company ruined my credit. My 780 credit score went down to five hundred something at one point. They broke every law there is regarding consumer rights.

I mailed them a $3,400 check to pay off the loan and nobody knows where the check is now I have to call and file a claim it takes 90 days to figure out who's got it cuz nobody I talked I was on the ph

Sneaky underhanded interest games

I had an Amazon Synchrony card. I set up a 6-pay interest-free payment plan on Amazon that was specifically for the Synchrony card.

It gives you actual payment costs per month, and then you click a button to set it up before checkout. Long story short, Synchrony doesn't bother setting them up after all this and charges you a 25% interest on them. It's an error that they clearly profit from every single time.

Customer service is designed to wear you out by acting ignorant, changing their excuses, and switching representatives frequently until you end the conversation. It's the definition of unethical entities.

Why was the account closed never missed a payment never late payment was 35$ I paid 100$ EVERY MONTH the account is canceled for WHAT???? And talking to customer service sucks!!! Don't deal with them

Could not find an easy way to talk to a Service rep. Finally after trying several numbers listed in got ahold of 1. 30 to 45 mins to resolve a 2 minute issue if they listed.right number . Resolved.er
