Rewards Program & Interest Rate

My credit score was 800 which is 79% better than most card holders. Your rate was too high. A bigger issue was the rewards program. You apply the rewards to the balance due on the card. There was no option to cash them in for a check to be sent to me so I could use the money as I saw fit. Also, you closed a card on me I once had through the Sam's club because you decided I wasn't using it enough.

A manager called three weeks ago, apologized and said my account reopened and new card should be received 7-10 business days. New card not received aftee three weeks so I called last week.

She was on vacation. Ugh.

I left her voicemail. Waiting for response.

Closed account.

Auto payment to CareCredit failed last November/December. Also had a Sweetwater card with Synchrony without Auto Pay. January this year I stopped Auto Pay on the CareCredit account to manually pay monthly. Right after that, Synchrony reduced both cards credit limits....

TERRIBLE LOOOONG wait for customer service

Situation involving a feature of their online banking that was not working correctly. Needed to speak with a representative to resolve. While my call "is very important to them", I have been waiting 1:09:47 at this point. This is absurd and presumes my time has NO value. Once I resolve the problem, I will withdraw my very substantial balance from their bank. I hate this.

I paid my account early and was charged a late fee

I pay my bills on the 1st 2nd or 3rd of every month. Because I paid early, I was charged a late fee of $40. Because this happed 3 months and my due date was not moved up, they took away my credit and destroyed my credit report. After finally getting a nice employee of this bank on the phone, she spent an hour talking to supervisors and was able to resolve the late fees, payment issue, and due date. My credit is not yet restored nor is my credit report corrected. My Attorney will deal with that issue. This Bank is a loan shark! stay clear of any store credit card that uses this bank.

Because I placed an order on Amazon and charged it to my Citi card apparently I made a mistake and it accidentally was charged to my sink to my synchrony card I didn't know about it so I didn't pay it

I found out about this when I saw that my credit score had decreased dramatically when I investigate when I investigated I found out that that it was because I had to charge the synchrony so I called Amazon and found that was because of charge was with synchrony I paid the bill but wasn't able to reach a person to talk to them about this issue I would like the charge of being paid late dropped and a refund on the late fee.

Credit accounts closed

6 synchrony bank accounts closed without warning due to computer glitch. Customer notified acct as soon as it happened on one acct and then all synchrony accts were closed without any notice.

RUDE Customer Service Supervisor AND Paperless Billing???NEVER

I received two "Late Payment" emails from Synchrony Bank on two separate occasions. Each time I contacted them I was advised that "You signed up for paperless billing". I have never signed up for paperless billing. When I disputed this I was told that if I pay online it defaults to paperless billing. When I spoke to the "supervisor" I was advised I must have done that....NOT!!! I told her that due to an emergency eye surgery my bill was higher than normal and I requested a credit limit increase as I usually pay off or pay off most of my balance. I explained that I received a denial due to "account is past due"....it is not, the ratio of payments over the last 3 months is to low???payments were made every month if I ever got the bill, funny how I didn't get a paper bill or ebill BUT I definitely got an email saying my account was past due??my question was how am I to pay the bill if I don't receive one??? The answer..."well, if you owe the money it doesn't matter if you get a bill or not you owe it"! Haven't had the account open long enough...it's been over a year and I've always paid the bill even if I didn't receive one. The "supervisor" basically blew me off and made excuses as to why I haven't been getting the bill even after I explained "I NEVER DO PAPERLESS" and pay off the bill or pay much more than the minimum payment. THIS IS THE RUDEST, LEAST HELPFUL PEOPLE I HAVE EVER TRIED TO DEAL WITH AND BOTH OF THE FEMALE SUPERVISORS TALK TO YOU LIKE YOU DON'T HAVE A BRAIN IN YOUR HEAD. THEY SHOULD BE FIRED....AS A MATTER OF FACT THEY DEFINITELY FIRED ME UP by making me, a 62 year old female, feel stupid, ignorant, helpless, and degraded like I didn't know what I was doing. My husband and I owned an internet service so I think I would know what not to click on. I'm going to close the account, I don't need the RUDE, NASTY attitude. If I would have acted in this manner when I worked at a bank my butt would have been fired! emergency emergency that my balance was highter

You know how much you spent, you know what the day is due. Stop making excuses.

She is not being rude, just honest. Why should the be fired for doing their job? Why should they be fired because you call them rude for expecting to pay your bills on time? You are a disgusting person for wanting them fired.

if they lose their job they might be in your situation, and not be able to pay their bills. But that is what you want right?

Why not do your job and pay your bills on time. Even without getting a notice you would know your bill is due at a certain day of the month.

Poor choices

About 18 months ago, Synchrony closed all my accounts. I reapplied for each one, and Synchrony opened new accounts. In the past week, Synchrony closed all but one of my accounts again. Their reason: Im a high risk not to pay. My credit score is 762. Ive never missed a payment at Synchrony or anywhere else. My income is over $100,000. I dont know what more I could do to be less risky. I dont carry balances on their cards or I use a 0% promotion. They left my Venmo credit account open with a $10,000 credit line - a baffling move given my high risk status. As if Id ever use it again. If a store uses Synchrony as a credit provider, beware of the merchant and the bank. Ill never go back. The good news: my credit score increased when they closed the accounts.

So if your numbers are all that, why are you applying for junk credit cards instead of using A REAL credit card? Could it be you’re playing the credit utilization game to keep your score up and they can see this?

I've never opened a credit card to play the credit utilization game, but I have opened accounts to earn rewards. In fact, that was the purpose of having them.

You make a valid point about these being junk credit cards, and I'm better off without them in the long run.

It just seems odd for Synchrony to spend the money to approve and open an account, maintain the account for 14 months and then shut it down. It would be more reasonable to reject the initial application.

Charged late fee after due date was changed without my knowledge

my due date was changed without my knowledge and then i was charged a late fee which increased my minimum payment and was told the late fee would be waived but reversed to the balance but i must pay the minimum payment which was increased 29.00 dollars. No one was helpful.

Trouble getting into my account AGAIN

I am tired of trying to get into my account to pay and cannot get in, it says try again later. You can't pay yet they will be on the phone the next day wondering where their payment is

They SUCK!

They're probably one of the few banks that don't have a grace period! Under no circumstances will they credit more than one late fee during the life of the loan.

This is an easy one...Pull the terms YOU agreed to, find the clause that says they should be like other banks, and forgive your late fees and you're golden. If YOU don't have that, deal with the terms YOU took on. It's funny how serial dead beats always want to operate outside their contracts...

We are in the process of cancelling our card with Synchrony Bank due to multiple cases of fraud. The security of this bank is very incredibly low, so much so, that someone was able to call up and report our card lost and have a new one sent to them. When we found out, we immediately called and was told that we had to physically mail proof of our current address in order to prove who we were. That was the last straw. We acquired this card through Sam's Club, which we plan to cancel our membership just because they use this bank. If you have a card through Synchrony, my advice, check all the information daily for fraud.
