First of Synchrony Bank has become WAY too big. I cannot believe that they control SO MANY credit lines!CHEVRON/TEXACOCARE CREDITPAYPAL CONNECTAMAZONJC PENNEYSand I am certain the list is much longer.I am in the process of paying off debt, lowering my balances below 50% of credit line limits to help strengthen my score, only to have Synchrony Bank lower the credit lines to just above the remaining balance to keep the overall percentages higher!Here is just one example, although they have done this to me on EVERY SINGLE ACCOUNT I have with them...I have had a credit limit of $1200 on my Chevron/Texaco account for several years. Until recently, I have carried the balance over $1000, but just 30 days ago, paid off the entire balance as I use the card at the pump regularly because of convenience and because of the recent scams of "scam readers" at the pumps.In less than a month, Synchrony has dropped my credit line to $260 when I had a $200 balance, which in California is about a month's worth of gas.This practice cannot be right, especially with the fact that they have done this to every single one of my accounts with them where I have paid the balances down to less than 50% of the limits, where now, due to their actions, I am back to where I started, ALL of my balances are again at nearly 90% of my limits.THANKS FOR NOTHING SYNCHRONY BANK!I am now going to do every thing in my power to bring action.
I have been charged late fees in the range of $25-$35/mo ever since I began paying on this account. My payments were set up as electronic from my CU, sent automatically on the 15th. They've been posting them on the 16th-19th, depending on what they feel like doing I guess.I need to accept part of this blame for not keeping closer tabs on this account, originally about $2,100 charged. I finally got around to checking it because by my calculations it was ready to pay off. Nope. According to Synchrony I still owe $385. In late fees.At no point was there ever any attempt on their part to communicate these recurrent charges with me, electronically or otherwise by mail or phone. The only time I'll hear from them is when I quit paying - which I'm doing now - or from their proxy bill collectors once they've charged me off. And no, I'm not going to contact them or discuss anything with them because I don't want to ruin my day talking to these ***
My father was diagnosed with Dementia in August. His Neurologist advised us to get power of attorney and that dad can no longer drive. Dad can not handle his personal financial business as he becomes confused and agitated. As his daughter and the financial minded one in the family (I'm getting my accounting degree) I stepped up to handle things. I contact Synchrony as dad has four credit cards with them, Care Credit, JcPenneys, Walmart and Sam's. I contacted Synchrony and explained who I was and my dad's situation. I asked what they needed besides the P.O.A. to allow me and the family to handle dad's cards. Also an address to mail the paperwork. The unhelpful agent, who's first language was not English, kept repeating over and over that they could only speak the card holder! I kept trying to explain about dad's Dementia, but he just kept chanting he could only speak to the card holder. I finally ended up screaming " WHAT PART OF DEMENTIA DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?" I then demanded to speak to a supervisor. The Supervisor was equally unhelpful and equally rude. I demanded to speak to his supervisor. He argued with me about getting his supervisor. He finally relented and got his supervisor. I explained the situation to this supervisor and he begrudgingly gave me the mailing address to sent the paperwork and exactly what all we needed to send. If your loved one has any Synchrony Bank cards and you have to take over their finances due Dementia or Alzheimer, I advise hiring an attorney. I also recommend avoiding their cards at all costs.

Synchrony Bank is single handedly destroying everything that credit builders/rebuilders work so *** hard to achieve with their greedy Mickey Mouse system. In a world where credit scores determine so many futures and outcomes, you're better off WITHOUT Synchrony Bank....

I agree we need to sue Synchrony Bank for asking customers too send out there personal information thru the mail they are behind on technology and the customer is paying for that because they do not want to spend money and upgrade there systems.please email if this has affected you in any kind of way. waltd7208@gmail.com

I was charged twice on my account for JCPenney's of $104.86. one was on the six through Western Union which I did not allow the other one was on the 8th which I did or low which was out of my direct deposit checking account show you all owe me $104.86.

I’ve had a Sam’s Club credit card through synchrony bank for 6+ years and every time I turn around they are replacing my credit card. This is the second time that it is happened while I am out of town. Apparently they mailed new cards to my home even though the cards...

Reason of review
Canceled the card that has not expired yet, because I did not activate a new one that was mailed to me. But I have not put my home address for more than a month and I will not return for at least one more month.

Terrible customer service. The worst credit card company that we have ever dealt with.

They lock your account for no reason and then state that they do not have your cell phone number on file. So, if that is the case, why after months of use has the account been locked. This is the worst credit card that we have ever had.

I cannot believe that in this day and age, this company is in the stone age. The customer service reps are incompetent.

[This is for PayPal credit ] PayPal credit is handled by S.B. I opened a 750.00 credit line and make payments over the phone never using monthly automated payments. Use your brains people. Always have the minimum in the bank and always pay the bill with the new payment due over the phone. You get an email conformation immediately and a text. It takes 2 days for the moneys to be removed from a account. [This is for PayPal credit ]

I applied to this card to get bonus cash since I do use credit card a lot. Spending $1500 in 3 months is easily achieved. I've never had this much inconvenience by using "credit card". They sent me 2 text alert that "phone/mail transaction was posted to my account", but I didn't use the card at all today. Called customer service, but she didn't see any transactions. She said it may be sent by mistake! What kind of system they are using?? I demanded to investigate the situation. I should get a response within 60 days by mail. Will see if that happens. After 3 months, I will cancel this card.

Synchrony Bank - Payment accepted after change over

Made payment to Walmart but was sent to Synchrony and can not get anyone to listen to the fact that it was to be sent to Capital One. Have called 6 numbers - IWANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!

Synchrony Bank in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey - UNDER THE GUISE OF J C PENNEY

BEWARE-not your new J C Penney card! I was sent a credit card with a heading J C Penney with instructions to activate. Thinking this was my renewable J C Penney store card, I almost did so. Seeing the Mastercard logo, I looked at the account numbers and noticed they were different. Turns out, I would have been opening a whole new major credit card in my name unknowingly. When I called to complain, I was told that I was one of the fortunate customers that was receiving a Mastercard account. Yeah, thanks a lot!!!

Synchrony Bank in Cypress, Texas - UNDER THE GUISE OF J C PENNEY

I was sent a "J C Penney" card with instructions to activate. Thinking it was my renewable J C Penny card, I almost did so. Turns out, it was a Mastercard with the heading J C Penney. I would have mistakenly been opening a totaling new major credit card account in my name. Luckily, I'm older and wiser and recognized it for what it was worth. Shameful to take advantage of unsuspecting customers in this manner. When I complained to J C Penny, their reply was, "Yes, we are affiliated with Synchrony Bank." No apologies.
