First of Synchrony Bank has become WAY too big. I cannot believe that they control SO MANY credit lines!CHEVRON/TEXACOCARE CREDITPAYPAL CONNECTAMAZONJC PENNEYSand I am certain the list is much longer.I am in the process of paying off debt, lowering my balances below 50% of credit line limits to help strengthen my score, only to have Synchrony Bank lower the credit lines to just above the remaining balance to keep the overall percentages higher!Here is just one example, although they have done this to me on EVERY SINGLE ACCOUNT I have with them...I have had a credit limit of $1200 on my Chevron/Texaco account for several years. Until recently, I have carried the balance over $1000, but just 30 days ago, paid off the entire balance as I use the card at the pump regularly because of convenience and because of the recent scams of "scam readers" at the pumps.In less than a month, Synchrony has dropped my credit line to $260 when I had a $200 balance, which in California is about a month's worth of gas.This practice cannot be right, especially with the fact that they have done this to every single one of my accounts with them where I have paid the balances down to less than 50% of the limits, where now, due to their actions, I am back to where I started, ALL of my balances are again at nearly 90% of my limits.THANKS FOR NOTHING SYNCHRONY BANK!I am now going to do every thing in my power to bring action.
I have been charged late fees in the range of $25-$35/mo ever since I began paying on this account. My payments were set up as electronic from my CU, sent automatically on the 15th. They've been posting them on the 16th-19th, depending on what they feel like doing I guess.I need to accept part of this blame for not keeping closer tabs on this account, originally about $2,100 charged. I finally got around to checking it because by my calculations it was ready to pay off. Nope. According to Synchrony I still owe $385. In late fees.At no point was there ever any attempt on their part to communicate these recurrent charges with me, electronically or otherwise by mail or phone. The only time I'll hear from them is when I quit paying - which I'm doing now - or from their proxy bill collectors once they've charged me off. And no, I'm not going to contact them or discuss anything with them because I don't want to ruin my day talking to these ***
My father was diagnosed with Dementia in August. His Neurologist advised us to get power of attorney and that dad can no longer drive. Dad can not handle his personal financial business as he becomes confused and agitated. As his daughter and the financial minded one in the family (I'm getting my accounting degree) I stepped up to handle things. I contact Synchrony as dad has four credit cards with them, Care Credit, JcPenneys, Walmart and Sam's. I contacted Synchrony and explained who I was and my dad's situation. I asked what they needed besides the P.O.A. to allow me and the family to handle dad's cards. Also an address to mail the paperwork. The unhelpful agent, who's first language was not English, kept repeating over and over that they could only speak the card holder! I kept trying to explain about dad's Dementia, but he just kept chanting he could only speak to the card holder. I finally ended up screaming " WHAT PART OF DEMENTIA DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?" I then demanded to speak to a supervisor. The Supervisor was equally unhelpful and equally rude. I demanded to speak to his supervisor. He argued with me about getting his supervisor. He finally relented and got his supervisor. I explained the situation to this supervisor and he begrudgingly gave me the mailing address to sent the paperwork and exactly what all we needed to send. If your loved one has any Synchrony Bank cards and you have to take over their finances due Dementia or Alzheimer, I advise hiring an attorney. I also recommend avoiding their cards at all costs.
As a former employee of synchrony bank I can say all of this is true. They close accounts without warning and tell the empolyees to give customers *** responses . They also constantly threaten their empolyees jobs if you actually try to tell the customers things that...Read more

i ve taken the check to my bank and they said they couldnt deposit it because where the authorized signature line is Synchony Bank is put as the signature and they said it had to be a real persons name not the company because a real person has to be liable.
